Why we are redesigning the lakeshore at Camping Aaregg
The high quality of life right by the water is particularly important to us here at Camping Aaregg in Brienz. In order to offer our guests even more space for sunbathing, playing and relaxing in future, we have decided to fundamentally upgrade our lakeshore. To do this, we are removing three existing pitches right on the shore and reusing this area as a spacious bathing and sunbathing beach.
The planned project
The shore area where the parking spaces are currently located will be levelled and converted into a spacious lawn area. This will create more usable space directly on the waterfront – ideal for families, swimmers and sunbathers.
The project also includes the following measures:
- Modification of the existing island
- Renovation of the wooden jetty
- Enlargement of the shallow water zone for a safe bathing experience
The new shore area will be designed to be more natural, open and inviting. The following plan shows the future design of the lake shore as well as the new water and green areas. The measures are planned to blend harmoniously into the existing landscape.
When will the work take place?
The construction work will be carried out during the winter months of 2025/26. This time was deliberately chosen because the water level of Lake Brienz is lower during the winter months, which supports our goal of completing the new bathing area in time for the start of the season.

With the redesign of the shore, we are creating:
- significantly more sunbathing area directly on the lake
- a more attractive and safer bathing area
- more space for relaxation, play and bathing fun
- a sustainable upgrade of our lake shore
